GREENVILLE, N.C. – Taylor Woodring hit two home runs and Emma Jackson added a grand slam in the fourth inning as East Carolina run-ruled UTSA 10-2 in six innings on Saturday afternoon at Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.
Woodring went 3-of-4 at the plate for the Pirates (28-11, 5-9 AAC) who recorded another double-digit games in hits and surpassed last season's 27 wins and have won the most games in a season since 2014.
The Pirates would jump out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on Woodring's first homer, but the Roadrunners would answer with two runs in the top of the third to knot the game at 2-2.
ECU would load the bases in the bottom of the fourth to set up Jackson's grand slam that would give the Pirates a four-run lead and Woodring would follow up with her second bomb of the day to give ECU a 7-2 lead going into the fifth frame.
