GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina soccer team will travel to UNCW on Sunday evening for a 7 p.m. contest at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. The Pirates will be looking to get back in the win column after a pair of draws in their last two.

Last Time Out
The Pirates played to a lethargic scoreless draw with Coastal Carolina on Thursday. The team led the battle in shots 10-6 and fired three shots on frame to the Chanticleers' one. The Pirates had six corners to Coastal's four. Despite this, Coastal had the better measure of the chances, forcing some timely ECU stops and missing the frame a couple of times on open chances.

Scouting UNCW
The Seahawks look like an improved side in 2024 with a 2-2-1 record through five games. The team opened the year with a win over Charlotte on the road and against common foes, UNCW took a 1-1 draw against UNC Greensboro and a 2-0 win over Coastal Carolina. Last time out it was a 4-0 defeat on the road against a surging Duke team. Offensively, the Seahawks spread the wealth with the team's five goals on the year have come from five different players. In goal, Morgan Hobbs has gotten the majority of the minutes, making 14 saves so far with eight goals allowed.

Series History
The Pirates and Seahawks have a long history with a 16-7-2 margin all-time for ECU. The Pirates have won the last three, including a 2-0 result a season ago with Sydney Schnell and Ella Steck scoring bookending goals in the fourth minute and the 89th minute. The Pirates also took the last meeting in Wilmington, 1-0 in 2022 when Annabelle Abbott scored the winner.
