Pirates Finishes Tied For Third At River Run

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The men's golf team claimed a share of third place with a 36-hole score of 593 in the rain-shortened River Run Collegiate. The two-day, tournament was being held at the River Run Country Club.

Junior Philip Linberg Bondestad and sophomore Nathan O'Neal paced the Pirates both finishing tied for 11th at 3-over par (147). Bondestad carded rounds of 73 and 74, while O'Neal shot a 77 and 70. Senior Carter Busse finished 17th at 5-over (149) with rounds of 75 and 74. Sophomore Adam Lennermark placed 24th carding a 36-hole score of 150 (6-over) that included round of 73 and 77.

In his first collegiate event, Freshman Luke Mosley finished 51st after rounds of 80 and 77 for a tournament score of 157 (13-over).

Host Davidson (581) took home the team title with an 11-shot victory over Delaware (592) with a 5-over par score. Finishing tied for third with ECU was Loyola-Chicago, followed by Marshall (598) in fifth place.

The Pirates return to action on Monday, Sept. 30 hosting the Ironwood Collegiate Classic at the Ironwood Golf & Country Club.
