Last Time Out
The Pirates finally suffered their first loss of the season in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the James Madison Dukes. Ginny Lackey scored both goals for the Dukes, including an absolute rocket to open the scoring in the 65th minute. The goal was the first allowed by the Pirates in Johnson Stadium in over 400 minutes of action. The home side once again outshot their opponent to the tune of 10-8, but were less clinical in their finishes as JMU took advantage of their chances.
Scouting UTSA
The Roadrunners have looked like a strong side so far in 2024 with their 5-3-0 record, including a 3-1 mark at home. However, the team is just 1-2 on the road and enters Thursday on the heels of a 2-1 loss to UAB in their American Athletic Conference opener. Addy Johnson leads the way offensively so far on the season with three goals scored while Jasmine Kessler has done the lion's share of the work in goal with 23 saves to just six goals allowed.
Series History
Thursday's contest will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and Roadrunners.
