
ECU Takes Fourth At Palmetto Invitational

AIKEN, S.C. – Senior's Carter Busse and Tyler DeChellis both posted scores of 143 (3-over) sharing ninth place and helping East Carolina to a fourth-place finish at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The two-day event, which was originally scheduled for 54 holes before inclement weather pushed it to 36 holes, was being played at the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Country Club.
Busse carded rounds of 74 and 69 standing among the tournament leaders in total pars (first/26) par-3 scoring (t4th/3.00) and par-4 scoring (t11th/4.13), while DeChellis shot rounds of 76 and 67 finishing tied for first in total birdies with 10. He also posted a 4.00 stroke average on par-4's tying for third place.
Junior Philip Bondestad (74-76) and sophomore Nathan O'Neal (76-74) finished tied for 25th with a score of 150 (10-over) and sophomore Adam Lennermark claimed a share of 47th after shooting a 13-over par 153 (80-73).
Clemson won the team title posting a 3-over par 563 (289-274) finishing five shots ahead of USC Aiken (568/8-over). Campbell placed third (571/11-over) ahead of ECU (583/23-over) while Mercer and Samford (588/28-over) rounded out the top five.
ECU returns to action on Monday, March 17 when it plays host to the ECU Intercollegiate, which will be held at the Brook Valley Country Club.
