Performing as a part of the squad again will be Julianna Amundson (Greenville), Mary Elizabeth Baker (Fuquay Varina), Caroline Barlow (Kannapolis), Madelyn Brook (Mount Royal, N.J.), Briana Burrell (Gainsville, Va.), Caroline Campbell (Harrisonburg, Va.), Kaylee Chavis (Lumberton), Madeleine Cihon (Hillsborough, N.J.), Jaden Eubanks (Belmont), Taylor Green (Holly Springs), Chloe Hampton (Oak Ridge), Allison Lander (Denver), Xe'Nia Rosario (New Bern), Audrey Sams (Stafford, Va.), Kaitlyn Vlacich (Long Island, N.Y.). Joining the veterans Marina Medica, transfer junior from Fort Myers, Fla. and five incoming freshmen in Kennedy Cureton (Wake Forest), Katie Earp (Four Oaks), Kira Jones (Charlotte), Alexandra Kessinger (Greensboro) and Karrigan Starns (Maiden).Â
Â
The audition consisted of the ECU Fight Song and Game Day style routine learned by participants before arriving. In addition, a performance routine consisting of the three styles of dance performed by the dance team, pom, jazz and hip hop taught the day of auditions, a technical skills demonstration, along with a personal interview.
Â
"It is always exciting to select new members to join our program and to welcome them to Pirate Nation," ECU Head Coach Kristin Jeffries said. "This was the first year we did invite only for our in-person auditions. The amount of talent demonstrated at tryouts was incredible which made the decision very challenging. These dancers showed tremendous work ethic and displayed enthusiasm and school spirit in their performances. I am looking forward to being able to showcase the talents of these young ladies during our athletic and community events this season."
