An Update From AD Jon Gilbert

Pirate Nation:

Thank you for making last Saturday a special night in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Your passion, energy, and unwavering support were felt from kickoff to the final whistle. While the result wasn't what we had hoped for, we have another incredible opportunity this week – and this one's again under the national spotlight.

This Thursday night, our Pirates are back under the lights for their first conference game of the season against Army, and it's a big one – Military Appreciation Night sponsored by Mountain Dew, prime time on ESPN, and a full day of events to showcase what Pirate Nation is all about.

ESPN's SportsCenter in Greenville
We are excited to welcome ESPN's SportsCenter to Greenville. They'll be broadcasting live from Sup Dogs from 2-3 p.m., featuring head coach Blake Harrell, along with our ECU Cheerleaders, Dance Team, and of course, PeeDee. SportsCenter will also go live from Bagwell Field at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium during the 5 p.m. hour.

Game Day Events & Entertainment

Mountain Dude will be in town engaging with fans, students, and leading the Purple-Gold cheer before kickoff.
Tailgate Plaza will open at 4:00 p.m. with The Embers featuring Craig Woolard performing beginning at 5:30 p.m. Don't miss the pop-up shop with exclusive Stars & Stripes ECU gear.
We can't thank Bret Oliverio of Sup Dogs enough for his support of Treasure Island, our student tailgate area. Country Night will be performing beginning at 5 p.m. and will have several special guests including Matt James of The Bachelor and a special performance by a local TikTok performer.

Pregame and Halftime Spectacle

Thanks to Pepsi, a full array of fireworks is scheduled again.
At approximately 22 minutes prior to kickoff, The U.S. Army Golden Knights will parachute into Dowdy-Ficklen – always a fan favorite.
At halftime, stay in your seats for a special drone show presented by Mountain Dew, and a joint performance by the Camp Lejeune Band and our very own Marching Pirates.

I know it's a short week, but this is a huge moment for our program. We are proud to host on a national stage, and there's no better way to showcase Pirate Nation than with a vibrant stadium, electric atmosphere, and a sea of Purple and Gold.
