IRVING, Texas – East Carolina redshirt sophomore pitcher Julia Apostolakos has been named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week according to an announcement from the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Apostolakos' weekly honor marks the second straight week that the Pirates have had a conference pitcher of the week as Sydney Rainford earned the honor last week.
The Beachwood, N.J. native helped lead the Pirates to a series win over Florida Atlantic on the road last weekend for their second conference series win of the season, allowing just four hits and one run in 7.2 innings while throwing five strikeouts. She earned the complete game win in ECU's 3-1 victory in game one of Saturday's doubleheader and entered in the seventh inning of the second game to retire FAU's last two batters and stop the Owls' comeback, earning her second save of the year.
Apostolakos and the Pirates return home to face Elon today at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
