
Four Pirates Named To CSC Academic All-District® Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina senior swimmer Heidi Bruining, junior swimmers Sophie Benkusky and Campbell Murawski and sophomore diver Kinsley Baker have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team according to an announcement from the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Bruining finishes her Pirate career with the seventh-best time in the 200 breaststroke in program history, recording a time of 2:14.94 at the 2026 American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. The Altamonte, Fla. native won both the 200 free (1:51.87) and the 200 IM (2:04.86) in the Pirates' senior day win over Georgia Southern. Bruining holds a GPA of 3.83 in the classroom and is set to earn a degree in elementary education.
Murawski and Benkusky concluded their junior campaigns at the 2026 American Swimming and Diving Championships with Murawski competing in the prelims of the 50 free and participating in the NCAA time trials of the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly. Murawski has a GPA of 3.89 and is currently working to earn a degree in engineering. Benkusky also competed in the 100 free time trial as well as the 500 free time trial in Greensboro while also participating in the 500 free prelims. Benkusky has a GPA of 3.92 and is currently studying environmental science.
Baker wrapped up her sophomore season at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, competing the 1-meter and platform dives. The Atlanta, Ga. native holds a GPA of 3.79 and is currently pursuing a degree in nursing.
