June 03, 2026 | Volleyball
GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina Volleyball and head coach Adler Augustin announced the Pirates' 2026 non-conference schedule on Tuesday, featuring multiple tournaments, postseason-caliber matchups, and several home opportunities for Pirate Nation at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.Â
The Pirates will prepare for American Conference play with a challenging early-season schedule that features six home matches, two home tournaments, and trips to Clemson and Wake Forest for two highly anticipated away tournaments. ECU looks to build on the momentum from the 2025 campaign as the program continues its rise entering the 2026 season.Â
ECU will begin preparations for the 2026 campaign with an exhibition contest at NC State on Monday, Aug. 24, before officially opening the regular season at home during the ECU Invitational Aug. 28-30. East Carolina welcomes Bethune-Cookman, Hampton and Radford to Greenville for the season's opening weekend, giving Pirate Nation its first opportunity to see the team in action at Minges Coliseum.Â
ECU opens tournament play against Bethune-Cookman on Friday evening before continuing the weekend with contests against Hampton and Radford. The opening weekend provides the Pirates with an opportunity to establish momentum early while competing on their home floor.Â
The Pirates then hit the road for consecutive weekends, beginning with the Clemson Tournament Sept. 4-6. All matches will be played at Clemson, where ECU is slated to face Appalachian State, Clemson and UNCG in a challenging three-match stretch against familiar regional programs.Â
East Carolina continues tournament play the following weekend at the Wake Forest Tournament in Winston-Salem Sept. 11-13. The Pirates are scheduled to take on Wake Forest in the tournament opener before also facing East Tennessee State and Georgia Southern over the course of the weekend.Â
ECU closes out non-conference action back in Greenville with its second home tournament of the season Sept. 18-20. Maryland, Old Dominion and Campbell will travel to Minges Coliseum for the three-day event, highlighted by evening matchups against Old Dominion and Maryland before the Pirates conclude tournament play against Campbell.Â
The 2026 non-conference schedule gives East Carolina a balanced mix of home competition and road-tested opportunities as the Pirates prepare for the start of American Conference play later in the fall. Â
Overall, ECU will face opponents from the ACC, Sun Belt, CAA, MEAC and SoCon during the opening month of the season, providing valuable experience against a variety of playing styles before conference competition begins.Â
