Alex Fieldhouse joined the East Carolina staff as a graduate assistant coach after enjoying a successful four-year career on the Pirate softball team. She will assist head coach Beth Keylon-Randolph at practices, with scheduling and will serve as the bench coach.

Fieldhouse finished her collegiate career with 155 hits, 28 doubles, 20 home runs, eight stolen bases and five triples as a .264 hitter. As a senior, she started in every single game of her senior season and posted a .258 batting average with 29 runs scored while ranking second on the squad with eight home runs, 37 RBIs and four sacrifice flies. The third baseman tallied 15 extra-base hits and a .477 slugging percentage.

In the classroom, Fieldhouse earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete accolades and was a member of the 2013 Conference USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll.

Fieldhouse played high school ball at Rosary High School where she was a four-time All-Trinity League honoree. She concluded her prep career with a Second-Team All-Orange County selection and collected the team[apos]s defensive player-of-the-year award.

The Garden Grove, Calif., native graduated with a degree as a health fitness specialist major from East Carolina University in 2014.
