Krista Carano was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at East Carolina University in September of 2015.
Her primary sport responsibility is working with the lacrosse and women's golf programs. She is responsible for the day-to-day care, injury prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation for the Pirates.
Carano spent the last two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at ECU, working primarily with the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs. She also assisted with football preseason practice, as well as the softball, women’s basketball and volleyball programs, while serving as a teaching assistant in safety education and first aid for university students.
A Broomall, Pa., native, Carano earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training at West Chester (Pa.) University in 2013, before completing her master’s degree in exercise and sport science at East Carolina in 2015. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) and North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association (NCATA).
