Sophie Freiling was named Director of Women's Basketball Operations on June 2, 2025.
Freiling comes to Greenville after a season as the Director of Football Operations at Lafayette College where she managed the day-to-day operations of the program from scheduling traveling to building relationships with donors to serving as a liaison for the program with the athletics department and college.
Prior to Lafayette, Freiling spent a two-year stint as a football recruiting and operations intern at Vanderbilt University where she was integrally involved in everything from travel to recruiting to analytics and scouting.
The Williamsburg, Va. native is responsible for Lafayette football’s day-to-day logistics including team travel, team budget, student-athlete recruitment and a variety of administrative tasks.
A former competitive swimmer, golfer and gymnast, Freiling graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt in 2023, earning a bachelor of arts degree in political science and medicine, health and society.
