Frank Failace joined the East Carolina University Athletics staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach in April of 2019. While his primary area of emphasis is assisting with the Pirates’ football program, he also has athletic performance oversight of ECU track and field (sprinters/hurdlers), along with women’s lacrosse and men’s golf.
Prior to his arrival in Greenville, Failace served as assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) after spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an intern with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He began his career working with high school student-athletes as a sports performance trainer at Overtime Sports Facility in his hometown of Wayne, N.J. while completing requirements for a master’s degree.
Failace earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Saint Francis (Pa.) University in 2016 after playing four years in the Red Flash’s football program at the FCS level. He followed with a master’s in exercise and sport studies-exercise physiology from William Patterson (N.J.) University in 2018.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Failace is also Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) per the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
