In today's action, the 4x100 meter relay team of senior Darren Tuitt, junior Jeremy Carter, freshman B.J. Henderson, and junior Julien Dunkley earned All-America status tonight as they finished seventh in 39.66 seconds. This is the third All-America title that an East Carolina 4x100 meter relay team has b
rought home. The seventh-place finish is the second highest for an ECU 4x100 relay team. For Henderson, this was his third All-America title in his brief career as a Pirate, tying the most All-America honors earned by a Pirate in a single season. He joins the ranks of East Carolina track record-holders Lee Vernon McNeill and Brian Irvin.
LSU won the event in 38.48 seconds, followed by Clemson (38.82), and Tennessee (38.83). LSU broke the 15-year-standing Bernie Moore Track record of 38.82 seconds held by TCU. In other action today, Dunkley competed in the 100 meter semi-finals finishing 12th in 10.36 seconds. He did not qualify for tomorrow's finals in the event.
