Women's Soccer Takes Second C-USA Win

The first goal of the game came at the 46 minute when Liz Bosscher Chipped it over Lauren Church's head into the top left corner of the net.
The game remained scoreless for the Pirates until the 76 minute when Meghan McCallion and Stephanie Walker assisted Amanda Duffy's goal on a cross shot to the corner of the net. Duffy's goal tied the all time career goal record at ECU.
Duffy scored the game-winning goal for the Pirates only a minute later. The pass came from Krystel Pabey, tapped by Kristin Hoyle and Duffy put it away into the lower right corner. This marked Duffy as ECU's career record goal holder with 28 goals.
The Pirates and Blazers battled until the end of play, the Pirates outshot the Blazers 16-15 and Church made five saves for the Pirates.
Head Coach, Rob Donnenwirth, commented, "I thought we played a good game the whole game. Duffy came through huge. A lot of players came through huge. We got some good performances from Stefanie Walker and Unicity Dittmer. Everyone just worked hard. It was a great team win for us."
The Pirates take the road to face Liberty University October third, but return home to Bunting field October 11 at 12:00 pm. to take on Cincinnati.
