ECU Women's Soccer Falls to South Carolina

South Carolina (3-1) scored their first goal when Morgan McIntyre scored off an assist by Stacy Bunchman at 13:15.
East Carolina (2-1-1) tied the score at 1-1 when Penny Perrott scored off an Amanda Duffy corner kick at the 58:35 mark of the match.
South Carolina regained the lead when Melinda Carter headed the ball in off assists from Erica Bowie and Jessica Julin at the 63:12 mark.
South Carolina increased their lead to 3-1 when Melissa Hutson scored off Melinda Carter's throw-in from about 30 yards out at the 83:06 mark. South Carolina finished off the scoring when Melinda Carter scored off a Melissa Hutson assist at 89:51.
Coach Rob Donnenwirth commented: "I thought we did a good job holding on and coming back to tie the game 1-1. Our girls played hard, we just didn't have enough for a good South Carolina team."
The Pirates travel to Campbell University for their next game, 9/13, they return home September 27 at 4 p.m. to face on South Florida in a C-USA match.
