
Pirates Run Strong on First Day of Florida Relays

GAINSVILLE, Fla. -- Members of East Carolina University's men's track and field team ran well on the opening day of the 60th annual Coca-Cola Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida.
The outdoor event features collegiate teams as well as top high school teams from across the country.
ECU's All-American sprinter Julien Dunkley, who won the individual national championship in the indoor 60-meter dash two weeks ago, won the 100-meter competition on Friday with a clocking of 10.18. It was his second 100m victory of the outdoor season. Teammate Jeremy Carter placed ninth in the same event at 10.49.
Domonick Richmond placed fifth in the 400 meters at 47.17 and was joined by B.J. Henderson in 15th place (47.83).
Jamal Nisbett placed 10th in the 800 with a time of 1:52.28.
Competition for the Pirates continues on Saturday in Gainesville.
