
ECU Softball Begins Tar Heel Invitational With Two Losses

In ECU's first action of the day, UNC freshman pitcher Alison Yin fired six shutout innings, surrendering three hits and striking out three to improve to 11-3 on the season. UNC wasted little time giving Yin run support tallying three in the first inning. Carolina scored seven runs, on 10 hits and two errors, while ECU had no runs, on three hits and one error.
East Carolina, now 17-17 on the season, will face Hawai'i at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the UNC Softball Complex. The teams will be seeded after that game to determine the championship and consolation games at 2 p.m. Virginia currently stands at 2-0, while Hawai'i and Carolina are 1-1. East Carolina stands at 0-2.
