Women's Soccer 3-1 in Spring Season

The Pirates hosted Francis Maron in a 4-0 shut out on April 5. McCallion started the scoring streak for the Pirates with an assist from junior Mindy Nixon (Virginia Beach, Va.). Freshman Rachelle Cabeceiras (Cary, N.C.) scored the second goal of the game, as well as her second goal of the spring season, off an assist from freshman Melissa Penney (Gaithersburg, Md.). Freshman Ashley Stopa (Park Ridge, Ill.) scored the unassisted third goal and Penney finished the game off with the final goal of the game.
The Pirates attended the Cup of Life Tournament this past weekend in Fayetteville, N.C. The team went 2-1 over the weekend, defeating Akron 2-0 with both goals scored by McCallion, who went on to score the single goal in the Pirates win over Furman, 1-0. ECU lost to Florida in their final game 1-0.
ECU will conclude its spring season by playing Campbell tomorrow in Buies Creek at 8 p.m.
