
Lady Pirate Soccer Set To Host Tulane And Southern Miss

GREENVILLE, N.C. ? The East Carolina women's soccer team will host Conference USA foes Tulane (Oct. 15) at 4 p.m. and Southern Miss (Oct. 17) at 1 p.m. this weekend inside Bunting Field.
The Pirates (3-8-2, 1-3-1) are coming off a pair of road losses in C-USA action last weekend falling to Saint Louis, 3-0, and Memphis, 4-1.
Sophomore Tara Shaw (Malvern, Pa.) recorded her first collegiate goal and ECU's lone goal of the weekend against Memphis off of a through ball from a free kick in the second half of play. Junior Melissa Penney was credited with the assist, her second of the season and seventh of her career.
Tulane (5-7-2, 3-2-1) comes into Greenville looking to snap a two-game skid after dropping home games against UAB and USF. The Green Wave are led by senior forward Lindsay Morris who has five goals, one assist and 11 points on the season. Junior keeper Megan Morey has played every minute of the Tulane's 14 games in goal and has posted a 1.58 goals against average, recorded 60 saves and five shut outs.
Southern Miss (5-6-1, 1-5-0) has lost six of their last seven games, including three straight in C-USA play falling to Louisville, USF and UAB. Senior Lauren Prewitt rank fourth in the conference in scoring with nine goals, third in points with 20, and is tied for first with four game-winning goals.
ECU owns a 16-13-8 overall record in three years of Conference USA play under head coach Rob Donnenwirth.
