Pirates Collect Three American Postseason Honors
November 02, 2025 | Soccer
IRVING, Texas – Three members of the East Carolina soccer team have earned American Conference postseason honors, the league announced Sunday. Both Caitlen-Star Dolan Boodram and Isabella Gutiérrez earned All-Conference Second Team honors while Gia Spinetti earned an All-Freshman Team selection.
Â
Dolan Boodram, a sophomore from London, England, followed up her All-Freshman Team honorifics as a rookie with an excellent season in 2025. The forward posted 15 points on a team-leading five goals and five assists. Two of her tallies were game-winning goals. Dolan Boodram who is something like lightning in a bottle started 16 of the team's 17 games and proved to be a difficult matchup for the Pirates' opponents all season.
Â
Gutiérrez, a senior from Guadalajara, Mexico, has earned the first postseason recognition of her career after a year in which the Team Captain was ECU's rock from start to finish. A set piece maestro, Gutiérrez started all 17 games while contributing 10 points on three goals and four assists. She was second on the team in assists and contributing one game-winning goal with her center-circle highlight reel score against UTSA.
Â
Spinetti, a freshman from Winter Springs, Fla., was a revelation for the Pirates as she appeared in all 17 games with 16 starts. Playing on the back line as a true freshman, Spinetti played 1,473 minutes in the regular season and acquitted herself well with uncommon poise for her youth for a new-look ECU defense in 2025.
Â
The Pirates will officially begin postseason play on Monday at 7:30 p.m. as they face No. 3 Memphis in the American Conference Tournament Quarterfinal. Taking place at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., the game is free to attend for fans making the trip and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
