
Lady Pirate Soccer Hits The Road In Conference USA Play

GREENVILLE, N.C. ? The East Carolina women's soccer team continues Conference USA play this weekend with a pair of road games at Saint Louis Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. and Memphis Oct. 10 at 1 p.m.
The Pirates (3-6-2, 1-1-1) are coming off a 1-0-1 weekend in C-USA action after defeating DePaul, 4-0, and tying Marquette, 2-2 in their second double-overtime contest of the season.
Junior forward Meghan McCallion recorded three goals and two assists over the weekend and helped ECU snap its six game winless streak on the season and a three-game loosing streak in C-USA play, dating back to 2003. With her three goals and two assists, McCallion has moved into third place on the all-time goals scored list (25), third in career points (60) and is tied for third all-time in assists with 10.
Red-shirt sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Church recorded her fourth career shutout against DePaul, which is tied for fourth place in ECU's all-time shutouts list. Over the weekend, she had 15 saves, allowing two goals in 198:48 minutes in goal.
Saint Louis (7-3-1, 4-0-0) comes into the weekend undefeated in conference play after posting a pair of shutouts against Houston and TCU on the road. They are led by senior forward Jamie Perry, a 2003 first-team All C-USA selection, who has four goals, three assists and 11 points on the season.
Memphis (8-3-0, 2-1-0) split their road series last weekend by winning at Houston and tying TCU. The Tigers are led by a pair of freshman forwards in Carla Scanniello, who has four goals, three assists and 11 points, and Madison Cheek and her team-best five goals.
ECU owns a 16-11-8 overall record in three years of Conference USA play under head coach Rob Donnenwirth.
