With the victory the Pirates recorded their ninth consecutive win and improved to 20-5-1 on the season.
East Carolina jumped out to an early 4-0 lead on Saturday as the Pirates scored four runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning.
ECU's Kristen Johnson led off the first inning with a double to right center, Shirley Burleson and Christine Sheridan then reached base on walks and Kate Manuse drilled a double to right field for two RBIs. The Pirates' Krista Jessup and Jessica Potter then provided a pair of RBI singles to give the Pirates their early 4-0 lead.
Brently Bridgeforth picked up her seventh win of the season by tossing a complete game, three-hit shuout.
The Pirates will take on the College of Charleston on Sunday at 9 a.m. in double elimination bracket play.
