
Softball Drops Series Opener To DePaul

With the loss, ECU falls to 34-7-1 overall and 3-4 in Confernce USA, while DePaul improves to 9-13 overall and 4-0 in league play.
Heading into the fifth inning the score was tied 3-3, before DePaul's Cara Douglas scored on a wild pitch to break the tie.
DePaul scored three more runs off reliever Keli Harrell in the sixth, and one more run in the seventh off Maggie Lingo.
ECU tried to make a comeback of its own in the bottom of the seventh, but came up short, leaving two runners on.
The Pirates' scored all of their runs in the third and fourth innings. Lee Savoy scored ECU's first run on a fielding error in the third. Andiey Acosta ripped a two-RBI double to center field in the fourth to complete the ECU scoring.
Linda Secka went 4-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Blue Demon's nine-hit attack.
