
Women's Soccer Wraps Up Spring Season Against Alumni

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina women's soccer team will conclude its 2004 spring soccer season this weekend when they take on former Lady Pirates in the annual Alumni spring game. The match will take place Saturday, April 24 at 1 p.m. inside Bunting Field in Greenville, N.C.
The Lady Pirates (7-0-1) are coming off an impressive team performance at the 7 a-side tournament held this past weekend at the campus of UNC Wilmington. ECU placed two teams in 15 team, three bracket tournament, which was comprised of schools from North Carolina and South Carolina.
Team One for the Lady Pirates claimed the tournament championship over instate foe Charlotte by going undefeated and not allowing a goal the entire weekend. ECU's second team, won two matches over Appalachian State and Charlotte, before falling the team one in the quarterfinals.
Playing for the alumni squad will be ECU's all-time goals (33) and points (83) leader Amanda Duffy, Kim Sandhoff the all-time assists leader with 28, and Penny Perrott the 2004 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, three-time All C-USA selection and games played record holder, 76. Other alumni include Tara Carpenter, Jill Davis, Unicity Dittmer, Leanne McInnis, Mindy Nixon, and Tina Rivera.
