
Four Softball Pirates Earn All-State Honors

Junior Kate Manuse, sophomores Krista Jessup and Christine Sheridan, and freshman Keli Harrell each received all-state accolades. For Manuse its her third postseason award of the season, while Jessup and Sheridan earned their second postseason award. For Harrell it is the first postseason recognition of her career.
Sheridan, Manuse and Jessup were also each named second team All-Conference USA. Manuse was also an All-Souhteast Region selection. The trio ranked one, two and three on team in batting, while Sheridan led C-USA in base on balls (47) and Manuse set a conference record for doubles (26).
Harrell finished her rookie campaign with a record of 16-7 and an earned run average of 2.61, while striking out 161 batters in 168.2 innings pitched.
Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. NCSSIA selects all-state teams for men's and women's soccer, softball and baseball on both the College and University (Division I) levels.
