
Lady Pirates Drop Conference Opener To Charlotte, 2-0

CHARLOTTE, NC - The East Carolina women's soccer team dropped their third consecutive match Friday night as the fell in their Conference USA opener to in-state rival Charlotte, 2-0, at Transamerica Field.
Charlotte's (1-7-0, 1-0-0) Kim Miles scored the game's first goal when she corralled a beautiful cross from Lindsey Palmiero. She then sent a scoring shot from about 10 yards out past East Carolina (2-5-1, 0-1-0) goalkeeper Lauren Church in the 38th minute.
The 49ers got an insurance goal in the 57th minute of play when Laura Crews scored her first career goal on a header from a Lindsey Beam's corner kick.
ECU will look to get back on track when they travel to Western Carolina for their final non-conference game of the season, Sunday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m.
