McCallion Named To Soccer Buzz All-South Region Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University forward Meghan McCallion (Long Island, N.Y.) has been named to the 2004 Soccer Buzz All-South Region Second-Team released Thursday by Soccer Buzz officials.
McCallion, a three-year starter for head coach Rob Donnenwirth, guided the Pirates to a fourth place finish in Conference USA after winning their last five regular season games. As the No. 4 seed in the C-USA Tournament, the Pirates faced Louisville in the first round falling, 2-1, and finishing the season 8-9-2 overall and 6-3-1 in conference play.
As a junior, McCallion led the Pirates in scoring with 10 goals, four of which were game-winners. She moved into second place all-time in scoring (30), third all-time in points (72), and tied her previous single-season high in goals (10), which is the third best single-season performance.
In addition to her second-team accolades, McCallion earned first-team All C-USA honors in 2004 for the second time in her career.
