
Softball Wins Two On Day Two Of Seahawk Classic

The Pirate bats came to life in the first game of the day collecting nine runs on 11 hits to push the Pirates pass Fairfield 9-1. Senior Kate Manuse lead the Pirates going 3-for-3 collecting three RBI with a home run and two doubles. Senior Mandi Nichols went 2-for-3 with a RBI and a home run of her own. Sophmore Keli Harrell (8-2) got the win for the Pirates allowing only two hits and striking out eight.
In the second game, the Pirates topped UMBC by a score of 7-4. Senior Leigh Savoy led the Pirates at the plate going 2-for-4 with two RBI comming of a two run home run. Junior Allison Monce also added a home run for the Pirates. Stephanie Hayes pushed her record to 4-0 getting the win for the Pirates, while Harrell recorded the save.
The Pirates will be back in action Sunday facing UNCW at 9 a.m.
