Hayes Named C-USA Pitcher Of The Week

IRVING, Texas --- East Carolina junior Stephanie Hayes was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week on Monday by the league office.

Hayes picked up the save in the Pirates' first conference win of the season over Saint Louis. She also added four innings of scoreless relief in game two vs. the Billikens. The junior was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher at the Winthrop Invitational after helping lead ECU to the team title. Hayes threw a complete-game shutout against East Tennessee State and picked up her second save of the week against Charleston Southern.

Hayes and her teammates return to action Tuesday afternoon against UAB in a Conference USA doubleheader in Birmingham.
