
Softball Earns Win Over Toledo

With its victory over Toledo, ECU (34-8) earned the third seed in the single elimination tournament on Sunday and will face second seeded Bowling Green at 11 a.m.
Sophomore Keli Harrell (17-6) struck out eight in a complete game victory over Toledo, allowing just two runs on five hits.
Kate Manuse, Laurel Carlson, Paige Baggett and Beth Nolan each accumulated two hits as the Pirates pounded out 10 hits. Baggett drove in two runs with a base hit in the third to give ECU a 3-0 lead. Senior Mandi Nichols then drove in an insurance run in the fourth with a sacrifice fly.
Nichols provided all of the Pirates' offense against Bowling Green with a solo home run in the fifth inning. Junior Stephanie Hayes (7-1) suffered her first defeat of the season, allowing two runs on six hits in seven innings pitched.
