GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina senior sprinter Terri Davenport has been selected as the Conference USA Co-Female Athlete-of-the-Week, according to an announcement from the league office Tuesday afternoon.
Davenport established a new ECU outdoor record and met NCAA East Region qualification standards in the 200-meter dash during the 28th Annual Spec Towns Invitational Saturday in Athens, Ga.
Davenport was clocked at 23.82 in the event, earning a first-place finish while also besting her previous record of 23.90 set in 2003 and surpassing the NCAA qualification standard of 23.96.
She shares the honor with Southern Miss sophomore Tanika Liburd, who posted a C-USA season-best leap of 21-08.75" to win the long jump at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational.
Davenport and the Lady Pirates return to action this week, competing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia beginning Thursday.
