BIRMINGHAM, ALA. - The East Carolina women's soccer team lost to UAB with under two minutes to go in the first overtime period. Sally Palmer scored her fourth goal of the season off a corner kick from Katie Henricks.
Amy Szilard and Patty Pierce were the lone Pirates to generate shots during the contest, but neither of the shots were on net. Amber Campbell recorded four saves on the five shots on goal she faced against UAB (4-6, 2-0).
"We weren't clicking today," said head coach Rob Donnenwirth. "We couldn't connect on passes like we usually do."
The Pirates are now 1-2-2 in overtime play this season. East Carolina will now return home to play Marshall on Friday Oct. 6.
