
Patty Pierce Honored As NSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-Region Honorable Mention

Greenville, N.C. - Patty Pierce, a junior on the East Carolina Women's Soccer Team, was honored by being chosen as a National Soccer Coaches Associate of America (NSCAA) Scholar-Athlete All-Region Honorable Mention. Pierce becomes the 10th player in Pirate history to receive this award.
Pierce ended the 2006 season with two assists from her defender position. In her career, Pierce has two goals to go along with three assists for a total of seven points. Over the course of her three-year collegiate career at ECU, Pierce has started all but one contest for a total of 57GS/58GP.
"Patty is such a great leader for our team," said head coach Rob Donnenwirth. "She sets such a high standard for our team to follow whether on the field or in the classroom. She is definitely deserving of this honor."
In order to be nominated, the student-athlete must be a junior or a senior and have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA. In addition, the student-athlete must play in at least 50% of the games and be a significant contributor.
