
Swimming & Diving Teams Split With UNCW

Wilmington, N.C. - A trio of Lady Pirates won a pair of individual events as East Carolina split a dual meet with UNC Wilmington on Saturday. ECU won the women's meet, 154.5-88.5, while the Seahawks earned a split with a 158-85 win on the men's side.
The ECU women upped their record to 10-1 overall, while the men dropped to 7-3. The loss dropped the UNCW women to 9-3, while the men improved to 7-2.
Sophomore Rebecca Perry won the 50 (24.07) and 100-Free (52.26) while fellow sophomore Megan Pulaski added first-place finishes in the 1000 (10:16.67) and 500-Free (5:04.47). ECU senior Holly Williams captured the 200-IM (2:09.26) and 200-Fly (2:07.14).
ECU claimed the top three places in the 200-Free led by Jennie Meade (1:54.88). Megan Brosi (1:56.51) and Sarah Hunt (1:56.81) finished just behind their teammate.
The diving events also belonged to East Carolina as sophomore Christie Icenhower (279.83) won the one-meter board and senior Lucy Hicks (244.68) placed first on the three-meter board.
The relay teams also won both the 400-Medley and 400-Free relays.
Juniors John Cameron and Matt Donohue paced the Pirate men. Cameron won the 1000-Free (9:54.00) and Donohue earned top honors in the 200-Fly (1:53.09).
East Carolina returns to the pool at the Conference USA championships, Feb. 22-25, in Houston, Texas.
