March 21, 2026 | Women's Swimming and Diving
Atlanta, Ga. – East Carolina senior diver Frida Zuniga has earned Second Team All-American honors after finishing 15th with a score of 264 in the platform dive at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.
Saturday marked just another impressive accomplishment in Zuniga's college career after she became the first Pirate diver to qualify for the NCAAs in all three diving events (1-meter, 3-meter, platform) after becoming the first diver in program to qualify for the NCAAs last year.
"The coaches and her teammates are so proud of what she's done," head coach Matthew Jabs said. "A great way to end an outstanding career. She's not just one of the best divers ECU has ever seen, Frida is one of the most accomplished female athletes in Pirate history."
The five-time American Conference Diver of the Week was named the American Conference's Most Outstanding Diver after becoming the first diver to win all three individual events at an American Conference Championship including recording a championship-record 319.75 points in the platform diving finals last month. Zuniga also reset her records both at East Carolina and in the conference championship in both the 3-meter (378.45) and platform dives at the conference championship. She currently holds the program records in all three diving events.
Last season, Zuniga also claimed American Conference Diver of the Week honors five times and was a medalist in all three events at the 2024 American Swimming and Diving Championship, becoming the first Pirate to medal in all events at the American Championship.
