IRVING, Texas --- East Carolina sophomore Christie Icenhower was named this week's C-USA Diver of the Week after claiming the top score for East Carolina on the one-meter and three meter boards last week against UNC Wilmington. It is the first time this season that any ECU swimmer or diver has received the weekly honor.
Icenhower helpled her East Carolina women's swimming and diving team to a 154.5-88.5 win over UNC Wilmington on Saturday. The sophomore claimed a first place finish on the one-meter boards and qualified for the NCAA's with a score of 279.83. She completed the sweep of the diving events by placing first on the three-meter boards as well.
Icenhower was named ECU's Most Outstanding Diver as a freshman and earned Freshman Diver of the Meet at the 2005 Conference USA Championships. Icenhower will look to defend that title as East Carolina returns to action for the 2006 C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, Feb. 22-25, in Houston, Texas.
