
Kobe Earns 400th Career Victory

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- East Carolina head coach Rick Kobe recorded his 400th career victory on Saturday as the women's swimming & diving team swept a dual meet from NC State and William & Mary, while the men's team posted a victory over William & Mary.
The ECU women's team improved to 3-0 on the year by besting William & Mary, 195-105, and downing NC State for the second consecutive year, 174-124.
The men's team improved to 2-1 overall as the defeated William & Mary 185-104, but fell to NC State, 204-96.
The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Rebecca Perry, Stephanie Harper, Amanda Duncan and Jenna Stewart set a Minges Natatorium record with a time of 1:46.24, breaking a 15-year old mark.
Duncan also recorded a pair of individual victories placing first in the 100 (56.29) and 200 (2:04.22) butterfly. Senior Christie Icenhower also recorded multiple events wins, capturing first place in the one-meter (259.30) and three-meter (308.40) dives.
The ECU women's team captured first place in nine individual events and both relay events. Other ECU winners were: Allison Miller (100 Back), Stephanie Harper (100 Breast), Jenna Stewart (50 Free), Rachel Blue (500 Free) and Jackie Jones (2:07.13).
Greg Neville was the lone first place winner on the men's side as he placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.60.
The teams return to dual meet competition Saturday, October 27 against Towson. The met is scheduled for an 11 a.m. at Minges Natatorium.
