GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina freshman Amber Littman was named Conference USA Co-Golfer-of-the-Week after posting her second career top-3 finish of the season at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate league officials announced today.
The Stoney Creek, N.C. native carded a career-low 54-hole score of 220 while tying her personal-best round of 70 on the final day. She ranked first in the field in par-5 scoring (-5), while ranking third in par-4 scoring (+4), fifth in birdies (8) and tenth in pars (34).
Littman helped the Pirates (46-14) to their third team title in four fall events with a team score of 906 (308-295-303). The Pirates went wire-to-wire and carded a 295 in the second round, which ranks as the 19th lowest team 18-hole score.
This is the first weekly honor for Littman and she is the third Lady Pirate to be named C-USA Golfer-of-the-Week following Abby Bools (Sept. 26) and Emelie Lind (Oct. 17).
Earlier in the week the Pirates made their fifth consecutive appearance in the GolfWeek national rankings dropping one spot to No. 22. ECU, who first appeared in the top 25 on Oct. 3 at No. 20, is also ranked 30th by Golfstat and is receiving votes from GolfWorld.
ECU will close out its fall schedule next week (Nov. 5-6) when they travel to Gulf Shores, Ala. to participate in the UAB Fall Beach Blast.
