
Lady Pirate Golf Inks Two In Early Signing Period

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina Head Women's Golf Coach Kevin Williams has announced that Amy Otteson and Julia Standberg have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for the Lady Pirates for the 2008-09 season.
"I was very worried about how things would play out since we got such a late start in recruiting," said Williams. "But I'm very excited with the addition of Amy and Julia to our program. Both girls are physically gifted and have tremendous potential. We expect both to make an immediate impact, plus we have added much needed depth to our program next year with the addition of these two."

Two-time N.C. High School East Regional Champion (2006 and 2007) ... Led Fike to three consecutive second place finishes in the N.C. High School State Championships (1A, 2A and 3A) ... Claimed third place finish at the N.C. High School State Championships as a senior ... Recorded top 10 finishes at the N.C. High School State Championships as a freshman, sophomore and junior ... Runner-up at the Carolina's Girls Match Play Championship ... Represented the N.C./S.C. squad in the Carolinas vs. Virginia-Maryland Team Championship ... Finished second at the 2007 Roy Jones/ Clarence Rose Junior Classic ... Claimed fourth place at the 2007 SunTrust Cup and sixth at the 2007 Twin States Girls Championship.
