GREENVILLE, N.C. - Senior Keli Harrell has been named Conference USA Pitcher-of-the-Week after earning wins against ACC opponent Virginia and UCF twice, while posting a 1.33 ERA. Harrell also passed Lindsay Chouinard of DePaul University to claim the C-USA career strikeout record, which now stands at 863.
Over the span of three games, Harrell allowed four earned runs while scattering seven hits in 21 innings. She struck out 26 batters and only walked four, while opponents had a .101 batting average.
The Greenville native has won the weekly honor eight times over her stellar career. She has recorded 81 wins and is 11 wins shy of second place all-time at ECU.
Keli (Harrell) continues to impress us on and off the field," associate head coach Natalie Kozlowski said. "She is much more focused on wins and losses than awards but I'm happy to see her recognized for her accomplishments."
During the Pirates ten-game win streak, Harrell has accounted for five of those victories.
Harrell joins last week's C-USA Hitter-of-the-Week Jessica Johnson as the two Pirates to receive the weekly conference accolades.
