WALLACE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team took home third place in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational Tuesday after posting a final round score of 313 to finish at 908 for the tournament, seven strokes out of second place.
The Pirates (64-44-3) trailed only host school UNCW (303-284-297=884) and East Tennessee State (304-298-299=901) for their fifth consecutive top-five finish.
Sophomore Lene Krog continued her spectacular play as she once again posted a top-3 finish after carding rounds of 69, 75 and 76 for a tournament score of 220. Junior Emelie Lind (231) and freshman Abby Bools (231) placed in a tie for 20th, while Jessica Hauser (232) shared the 24th spot and Ana Maria Puche (233) placed 29th.
UNCW's Emily Klein took home individual honors after her final round of 70 gave her a four-shot advantage over fellow Seahawk Carmen Perez-Narbon (216). Lauren Doughtie, who participated as an individual from N.C. State, shared fourth place with Natalia Giraldo (ETSU) with a 54-hole score of 222.
The Pirates will be back in action April 2-3 when they travel to Stockbridge, Ga. to participate in the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate.
