GREENSBORO, NC -East Carolina carded a second round score of 298 and currently sits two strokes behind UNC Greensboro with one round remaining at the 2008 UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic women's golf tournament at historic Starmount Forest Golf Club.
Abby Bools is still the individual leader, although she shot a 75 on Monday and her lead is now just three shots instead of the four-shot advantage she had to begin the day. She played the front side in 36, but had consecutive bogeys at Nos. 12 and 13 on her way to 39 on the back.
The Spartans (591) bettered the Pirates (593) by five shots on the day to erase a three-shot deficit and lead by two heading into Tuesday's final round. UNC Wilmington (594) are one shot behind ECU and sit in third place, while Georgia State (602) and Florida International (607) round out the top-five.
Ana Maria Puche dropped from second to 10th on Monday after a four-over-par 76 and has a 36-hole score of 148. Colleen Estes (153) is tied for 22nd, while Amber Littman (154) is tied for 33rd and Amy Otteson (158) share 50th place.
Tuesday's final round gets underway at 8:30 am with tee times off of No. 1. Tee times at No. 10 begin at 8:45 am. UNCG's groups will go off of No. 1 tee beginning with the 10:09 am group.
