
Abby Bools Earns Back-To-Back C-USA Honors

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina junior Abby Bools picked up her second consecutive Conference USA Women's Golfer-of-the-Week award and fifth of her career league officials announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Hickory, N.C. native recorded her 14th career top-10 finish at the Landfall Tradition after posting a 54-hole score of 220 (78-74-68) to finish in second place. She helped the Pirates (52-14-2) to a sixth-place finish which included wins over No. 24 Notre Dame and No. 31 N.C. State. For the tournament, Bools recorded 32 pars and 10 birdies, including six on the final day to record her second round of 68 this season, which ties her career-low round.
The reigning C-USA Player-of-the-Year has collected four top-4 finishes in five events including three consecutive top-3 placements. In her 26 career tournaments, she has a 75.93 stroke average, which ranks third all-time at ECU, and has 17 career top-20 finishes.
The Pirates will be back in action on Feb. 9, 2009 when the open spring-play at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.
