
Moore, Keller Named To C-USA All-Academic Team

HOUSTON, Texas - Members of the East Carolina soccer team continued to receive recognition for their efforts this season, this time off of the playing field as seniors Nicole Moore and Madison Keller were selected to the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic First Team, according to an announcement from the league during the quarterfinals of the 2008 C-USA Championship.
East Carolina, Rice and Memphis produced two selections apiece to the first team, while Houston, Marshall, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, and UCF each had one student-athlete chosen.
Moore, a defender from Rutherfordton, N.C., carries a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 as an excercise physiology major. She has been named to the East Carolina Chancellor's List every semester she has attended the university and is one of three co-captains for the Pirates this season. Moore has also earned C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll status three times while also garnering three C-USA Academic Medals. The selection marks the second consecutive for the senior.
Keller, also a co-captain on this year's squad, holds a 3.75 cumulative GPA as a biology major. The Clarksburg, Md. native has earned East Carolina Dean's List or Chancellor's List accolades every semester during her time in Greenville and has garnered three C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll nods as well as two C-USA Academic Medals. It is the first career selection to the All-Academic Team for Keller.
No. 1 seed East Carolina continues its run through the 2008 C-USA Championship on Friday when it faces No. 5 Colorado College at 6 p.m. ET inside the Rice Soccer Stadium.
