TUCSON, Ariz. - Emelie Lind and Abby Bools each carded a 54-hole score of 220 to claim a share of seventh place at the Mountain View Collegiate this weekend.
For Lind, it was her fifth top-10 finish of the season and seventh of her career. The Kungsangen, Sweden native posted rounds of 75, 71 and 74 to finish five strokes behind medalist winner Lauren Harling (Indiana). Bools claimed her fifth top-10 of the season and eighth of her young career with rounds of 72, 75 and 73.
"We struggled a little this weekend with the elements," said Head Coach Kevin Williams. "With the dry air in Arizona, we just never really got comfortable hitting the ball and making he adjustments that were needed. This event will help us in the future as we will heading out to El Paso, Texas for the Conference USA Championships."
As a team, the Pirates (98-21-0) finished in eighth place with a score of 901 (299-297-305), 21 strokes behind tournament champion Indiana (880). San Jose State took home second with a score of 8889 (287-308-294), while a pair of Big 12 institutions finished tied for third in Texas Tech (891) and Oklahoma (891).
ECU freshman Amber Littman posted a 54-hole 226 (73-74-79) to finish tied for 31st, while Ana Maria Puche (79-77-80) and Colleen Estes (80-77-79) tied for 73rd with scores of 236.
The Pirates will close out the regular season tournament schedule on April 7 when they participate in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational.
