
Bools Tied For Fourth At C-USA Championships

EL PASO, Texas -Sophomore Abby Bools carded a one over par 73 and currently sits in a tie for fourth place at the 2008 Texas Roadhouse Conference USA Women's Golf Championships. The event is being played at the par 72, 6,294-yard Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.
Freshman Amber Littman sits three strokes off the lead after a first round score of 75, while Ana Maria Puche (77) is tied for 19th, Colleen Estes (78) is tied for 26th and Emelie Lind (79) holds a share of 32nd place.
Southern Miss' Clara Viladomiu, along with Tulsa senior Leisl Hasbrouck and UAB freshman Jamie Brabb all shot 72's on Monday to sit atop the leaderboard tied for first place.
In the team portion of the championship, Southern Miss posted a first round score of 301 (+13). UCF, East Carolina and host UTEP are tied for second at 303 (+15). Tulsa (304) is alone in fifth place. UAB (306) is in sixth place, followed by SMU (308) in seventh.
Defending champion Memphis (309) and Marshall (316) round out the nine-team field, respectively, in which just eight strokes separate the top eight teams.
Second round action begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with the final round teeing off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The winner of the C-USA Championship receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.
