Bools Finishes Eighth At Seahawk Invitational

WALLACE, N.C. - East Carolina sophomore Abby Bools carded a 54-hole score of 223 to finish in eighth place at the 2008 UNCW Lady Seahawk Classic Monday at River Landing Golf Course.
Bools, a native from Hickory, N.C., recorded her fifth top-10 of the season and sixth top-20 placement. Fellow Pirate Emelie Lind finished tied for 17th with a score of 227 (75-79-73) the eighth top-20 finish of the season. Amber Littman finished tied for 30th with a score of 230 (78-77-75), Ana Maria Puche tied for 37th with rounds of 82, 76 and 74 for a tournament score of 232, while Colleen Estes claimed a share of 61st place (76-82-78=236).
The Pirates (108-26-1) finished 10 strokes behind tournament champion N.C. State (896) after rounds of 301, 309 and 296. UNC-Greensboro (897) finished second followed by host school UNC-Wilmington (900), Campbell (902) and East Tennessee State (906) who tied with the Pirates.
UNCW's Carmen Perez-Narbon (217) defeated UNC-Greensboro's Erica Creed (217) in a playoff to take medalist honors, while N.C. State's Lauren Doughtie (219) came in third.
ECU will be back in action next week when they travel to El Paso, Texas to compete in the 2008 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships.
