
Bools In Second At Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - On a cold a wind day, senior Abby Bools carded rounds of 70 and 71 for a 36-hole score of 141 (one-under par) and sits two shots out of first place at the 2009 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate with 18 holes remaining. The 54-hole event is being played at the par-71, 5,939-yard Greenville Country Club.
Bools finished her second round with an amazing 60-foot putt for eagle at the par-5 18th to shoot an even round par to close Monday's action. Fellow classmate Ana Maria Puche is tied for third after rounds of 73 and 71 for a two-over par 144. Sophomore Amy Otteson is tied for 15th with a 150 (76-74), while Amber Littman (77-77=154) is tied for 38th and Colleen Estes (80-81=161) holds a share of 69th place.
Elon's Tara McFadden leads the event after day one with a three-under par 139 (73-66). Her second round score of 66, five-under par, tied the tournament record for low round with Ashley Hovda of Western Carolina (2005/Bradford Creek) and is the lowest 18-hole score by an individual at the Greenville Country Club in this event. Charlotte Lorentzen (Georgia State) is tied for third with Puche at 144 and Nina Muehl (ETSU) is fifth at 145 (74-71).
East Tennessee State (296-290) and Georgia State (293-293) are tied for first at 586, 18-over par, while the Pirates (296-293=589) are in third. Rounding out the top five are Xavier (301-295=596) and Elon (302-298=600).
